Jump to section
1. General provisions
Cubion ("Cubion," "we," "us," or "our team") respects the privacy rights of all users and strives for transparent communication. This privacy policy and user agreement (the "Policy") describes how we collect, use, store and share information when you access our website and the Cubion launcher (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, you confirm that you have read and accept the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services. This Policy applies only to Cubion and does not govern third-party websites, services or applications (such as Microsoft, Mojang, CurseForge, Modrinth, Discord, etc.), which have their own terms and privacy practices.
Cubion is designed to launch only the official, licensed version of Minecraft. We do not support or encourage the use of pirated or unlicensed copies of the game. Users are expected to adhere to the licence agreements of Mojang/Microsoft and other rights holders.
The Cubion team firmly opposes fraud, abuse and unauthorized use of the launcher or game. We take reasonable measures to detect and prevent fraudulent activity and to protect our users and infrastructure.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that is necessary to provide and improve the Services. "Personal data" means information that identifies you or can be used to contact you. You do not need to create an account or provide personal data just to browse our site; however, certain features of the launcher require specific data.
2.1 Information you provide
You may provide information in the following situations:
- Logging into Minecraft through Cubion. We use the official Microsoft/Mojang sign-in flow and do not receive your password. We may receive authentication tokens and technical identifiers necessary for launching the game through the launcher.
- Contacting us. When you contact support you may provide an email address, the content of your message, screenshots, crash reports or other information you choose to share.
- Participating in our community. When you participate in surveys, beta programs, bug reports or feature requests you may also provide data.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the site or launcher, our systems automatically collect technical and usage information, including:
- IP address and approximate location (country, region or city);
- information about your operating system and version, hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, screen resolution);
- launcher version, interface language, time zone and network parameters (connection type, latency, bandwidth);
- usage data such as when you install, open, update or uninstall the launcher; how often you run Minecraft from Cubion; basic information about your modpacks (e.g., number of instances and loaders used) without accessing your world contents;
- crash reports and error logs that help us fix bugs and improve stability;
- website analytics and cookies: we use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences and collect aggregate statistics about site usage. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect for lawful purposes, including:
- Providing and operating the Services Data is necessary to run the launcher, authenticate with Microsoft/Mojang, manage installations, updates and modpacks, and ensure core functionality.
- Improving and developing Cubion We analyze performance, fix bugs, enhance stability and optimize download speeds to improve the user experience.
- Support and communication We use your data to respond to questions, feedback and support requests, and to send important service-related messages.
- Security and abuse prevention We use information to detect and prevent fraud, abuse of the launcher, unauthorized access, or violations of our terms or third-party terms (e.g., Microsoft or modding platforms) and to protect our infrastructure and users.
- Legal compliance We may use data to comply with laws, regulations and legal processes, and to enforce our agreements.
We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their own independent commercial use beyond what is needed to operate the Services as described in this Policy.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your session active, remember your preferences and collect aggregate analytics about how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit the functionality of the site.
5. Logged information
Our servers may automatically log certain technical data, including IP address, browser type and version, referring URL, operating system and device information, launcher version, dates and times of access to the site or launcher, and error/crash logs. We use this information to maintain and improve Cubion, understand how users interact with our products, diagnose technical problems and ensure the stability and security of our infrastructure.
6. Sharing personal data with third parties
Cubion does not sell your personal data or provide it to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share information in these cases:
- Service providers
- We may share information with trusted companies that help us operate our Services, such as hosting providers and cloud infrastructure, analytics and crash reporting services, email and communication tools and content delivery networks. These providers process your data on our behalf and are required to use it only as necessary to perform services for us and to apply appropriate security measures.
- Integration partners
- When you use features that rely on third-party platforms (e.g., Microsoft sign-in, CurseForge/Modrinth integrations, Discord links), certain data may be shared with or collected by these parties. This is governed by their own terms of use and privacy policies.
- Legal requirements and protection of rights
- We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders or lawful requests; enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; detect, prevent or address fraud, security or technical issues; or protect the rights, property or safety of Cubion, our users or others.
- Business transfers
- If Cubion is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. In such cases we will take steps to ensure the new entity continues to protect your information consistent with this Policy.
7. Your choices and control
We aim to give you control over your personal data:
- Analytics settings. You can disable the sending of anonymous usage statistics and telemetry in the launcher settings. We may still collect minimal technical data required for security and basic operation, such as IP address for abuse prevention.
- Cookie preferences. You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect site functionality.
- Emails and notifications. If we send you news or updates, you can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions in the email (unsubscribe link) or by contacting us using the details in the "Contact us" section. You may still receive important service-related messages that are necessary for operating the Services.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., the EEA, UK or certain US states), you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access – to know whether we process your personal data and to obtain a copy.
- Right to rectification – to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

- Right to restriction of processing – to ask us to limit processing in specific situations.
- Right to data portability – to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format and transfer it to another controller.
- Right to object – to object to certain processing, including where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent (e.g., cookies), you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

9. International data transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required by law, we implement safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to ensure that your personal data is adequately protected when it is transferred internationally.
10. Data retention
We keep your personal data only as long as necessary to: provide and maintain the Services; comply with our legal obligations; resolve disputes and enforce our agreements; and support our legitimate business interests. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it in a secure manner.
11. Security measures
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration. These measures may include encryption in transit and/or at rest, access controls and logging, separation of environments and restricted data access for personnel who need it to perform their work. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your devices and accounts secure (for example, protecting your Microsoft login, using strong passwords and not sharing them).
12. Contests and dispute resolution
Cubion may occasionally host competitions, giveaways, testing programs or other promotions. Participation in such events is voluntary and subject to separate rules that will be published at the time. The Cubion team reserves the right to interpret the rules, determine winners and make final decisions. We strive to run contests fairly and transparently and may exclude participants who violate the rules or use fraudulent methods.
If disputes arise concerning the use of the launcher, modpacks or other services, Cubion reserves the right to make final decisions to ensure fairness and compliance with this Policy. We support fair play and rule compliance.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, via the site or launcher). Your continued use of the site or launcher after changes become effective means that you accept the updated Policy.
